Greenstone America is using their C-10 gunite machine to help build housing in Stanley, ND using 3-D panel home construction. The gunite crew shoots about 30 yards per day completing the panels in stages says Kimble Blackburn of Sandstone. These homes are monolithic structures, which can be built as quickly as 30 days. They are fireproof, tornado and hurricane proof and have no cold joints. The dry-mix shotcrete applications creates a air tight structure. The housing has a low U value transfer rate of heat/cold from one side of wall to the other. Each panel is 1 x 1 x 1 ft and the contractor can use standard HVAC systems or heating elements in the floor. Panels will take sustained wind of 325 mph.
